Sheet rolled products thickness and profile control
The system is designed for automated control of sheet rolled products (sheet) thickness on their width and length during the manufacturing process.
The moving sheet of rolled products is the object of measurement. The width and thickness of the sheet can be measured in a wide range. The surface can be of any color, have any shape and profile.
Examples of the test surface: metal, polymer film, plastic, rubber, rubber steel cord, food-grade sheet, etc.
Measuring speed up to 180 kHz.
The system provides the following functions
The system consists of the following main components
Measuring principle
The system is hosted on a dedicated measuring section and works in automatic mode.
Sheet thickness measuring principles - differential. The sensors are located on the top and bottom of the sheet. During operation, the system knowing the base between the sensors located in one section and the information from these sensors is able to measure the thickness of the sheet.
Sheet skew compensation
Two additional sensors are installed parallel to the primary sensors on the edges of the sheet with some offset from the axis of measurement, that gives the measuring system information about the instantaneous angle of incline relative to the measurement axis and eliminates additional measurement error caused by sheet skew.
Options:
- 2D scanners are used to work with a sheet having a complex profile that is different from the plane, as well as to improve the accuracy of measurement. Sampling frequency 250 Hz.
- High-speed 1D sensors are used to improve measurement speed (up to 180 kHz).
Working with APCS and ERP
During installation the system is connected with third-party equipment of the workshop and information system, as well as complies with other requirements strictly under the provided TOR.
Information about the measurements is transferred to the APCS of the workshop in real-time modem. An alarm signal is triggered when exceeding the maximum allowable values . The measurements will be kept in an archive.
Measurement assurance.
Thickness pattern, on which the measured sheet surface profile is simulated, comes as part of the system. Calibration of each sensor individually performed by the manufacturer. Their mutual arrangement is calibrated as part of the measuring system. To calibrate sensor locations: base distance and mutual angles, a special cartridge on which gage blocks are arranged. The time required to calibrate the entire system is not more than 15 minutes. Calibration should be performed after system reset, during removal and subsequent installation of sensors, repair, etc.
Specialized software is distributed and the source codes of programs and algorithms are transmitted as part of the system. The codes are compiled and digitally signed manufacturer, which guarantees protection against intentional changes of quality indicators.
